  • OMG!!!

    8:11 am
I'm driving to work and there's mass traffic in Federal Way.
"Its probably cause of the snow...but its less than an inch!  Why are people making such a big deal about a layer of snow?"
         Grrr...

    8:20 am
All the cars are merging into the inside lane.
    There's a po-po car with lights flashing.
Seems a van got stuck on the sidewalk from sliding around (aka car accident).
    Traffic clears.
"Wow...there was no reason for traffic.  If people wouldn't stop to watch every minor accident, there'd be no traffic."

    8:22 am
There's a red car in front waiting at the light to turn left.
Couple cars coming from the opposite direction, but  no one on the left side of the road (cause of the accident).
I get into the center lane to turn left and with space enough for two cars, I put on the brake....
    Grind, grind, grind...(my brakes lock)
"What's this?!  Oh no!  I'm gonna get hit that car!"
Luckily, cat-like reflexes had me turn the car right, so I'd could avoid the hit...
I made it, just in the knick of time...and as I sat there, thoughts ran through my mind.
I shift into reverse and carefully reposition my car to turn left.
I wonder...does the driver of that car even know that I almost hit them?

    8:26 am
God reminds me that prideful behavior (and thoughts) are never left undealt with.
I was annoyed that people took the consideration to be careful even in the smallest circumstances.  The same idea applies to sin.  Many times, we have a tendency to underestimate the little things; things that appear safe or innocent.  When pride blocks our judgement, we make ourselves vulnerable to bigger and more dangerous things - in my case, a car accident.
But God is faithful...and willing to complete everything he begins.  Especially when it comes to perfecting His children.
    Amen?
         Amen.
